Fox appears to have slightly monopolized the possible republicans. The only possible candidate that is not part of the Fox affiliation is Mitt Romney. This frustrates competitors such as NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC.
Being Fox I wouldnt worry up until they potential candidates are official. At that point Fox should not be the only covering the candidates. There should be as much information out to the general public with outbsiding left or right winged.

~Will Evolving Forms of Journalism Be an Improvement~

Yes: Preparing for an Age of Participatory News
Participatory meaning that the news is know expressed and viewed not only by professionals but also by amateurs.
The new modality of organizing production: radically decentralized, collaborative, and non proprietary.
The two-tiers that developed participatory news is part of a convergence process: between top-down and bottom-up journalism.
Culture-based participatory news usually emerge from institutions and organizations with a need for public service agenda. There are able to clarify, inform, or gather believers by their platform of local news.
"In each instance a professional media organization (top-down) partners with or deliberately taps into the emerging participatory media culture online (bottom-up) in order to produce some kind of co-creative, commons-based news platform."

Bluffton Today: American
This source is a combination of a free daily newspaper and community news website. This source is a hybrid between professional and amateur participatory news. Its particular goal is to become a part of the daily conversations that people share rather than technological convergence. They want the people of Bluffton to become players in this coverage of news not just users or readers of it. They encourage the participative culture to evolve.

Authentic Life Stories: German
The website Opinio tends to skip over subjects such as economy and politics and focusing its program on everyday living and leisure-time activities. The target group is between 30-39  years of age and don't necessarily read the newspapers anymore.
Former project manager, Torsten Casimi, believes that the motivation behind this publicly authored site is the hopes of having one of their stories printed. The bad part was that at one point they had so many registered users that the site had seem to have no regards for substance.

Provoking Debate: Australian
The On Line Opinion is discussed to be most similar to the US website MediaChannel. It covers news in it's point of view as well as covering mainstream media. This site is composed of staff writers and invited commentators. this site plays an important role in Australian politics. The site provides a middle ground for deliberation, reporting and politics.
"...Bridge the gap between mainstream and alternative, and thus perhaps between (top-down) editorially controlled and (bottom-up) editorially controlled and (bottom-up) open news media, are to some extent perhaps forced to reflect this intermediary position in their editorial practices."

No: Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation Subcommittee on Communications Technology, and the Internet Hearing on the Future of Journalism, May 6, 2009.
News media is the future of online in which democratization in news gathering will always take place. But by this new era of news online the writer expresses then end to High-end journalism and once it is completely gone it can never be reborn again.
"...the parasite is slowly killing the host."
High-end journalism is describe as a profession of men and women trained to gather, regather, and review substantial information to be publicised. To be a journalist signified a full-time commitment and made a living off of being smart and talented to challenge views and opinions of society.
"...my industry butchered itself and we did so at the behest of Wall Street and the same unfettered, free-market logic that has proved so disastrous for so many American industries."
At journalisms peak the Television became it's largest treat with immediacy.

David Simons believes that yes, it ti harsh to cut down tree's to make a daily newspaper. But if the industry is going onine then there should be a charge for viewing the information. The problem here is that the internet is a found platform for free information. His emphasised that everything costs money in regards to a good news report, including flights, photography, and hiring the best.

"Media lieteracty refers to the ability to analyze a d evaluate the media messages within our society."

Upstart Candidate Beats GOP- Bacled Congressman in Delaware Senate Primary
What a difference and lack of attention span I had after watching the Daily Show. I should have watched this one first. They go into the details about the Senate Primary. This coverage includes Castle going after O'Donnell personally no so much politically. This show seems to have a less bias and informative. Giving numbers and details.

Does Fake News Mislead the Public

Fewer than 20 per cent of today's youth invest time in reading the daily newspaper. Around 60 per cent gather their current news from the television. The new generation has a declining audience when it comes to political affairs. Unfortunately this has repercussions such as less interest in voting, care less about the system, and not to mention know less of the political system.

Barry A. Hollander, who believes that fake news does not mislead the public, discusses the difference between recognition memory and recall.  With recall the person who is answering would simply know the answer. With recognition simply requires one to recognize facts from a list.

Yes ~ No Joke ~

In 2004 the election turnouts were at it's all time high after 30 decades.
Media Dependency Theory
"It is critically important to examine the content of mediated political communication as such information may well be used as the basis for political knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors."

The Daily Show with Jon Stevart as a Source of Campaign Information
As a result of voters under the age of 30 increase in the 2004 election, there is a need for broadcasting to shift in the direction that "appalled" to them the most. News has created an area of comedy and information such as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
I find that with my lifestyle the late night shows are a great way to gather news. Some times the news can lead to rough sleep because it can be so negative and violent, while the comical side can joyfully give you the information one needs. At that point it is up to you to see out additional information on topic that you find the most interesting.

Broadcast Television Network News as a Source of Campaign Information
In the year 2000, television took over the broadcasting. It is shown that the more hype a topic has the more it will surpass the network feeding you more substance than simply what is popular. This has become more and more true since the 1970's.

Concept Operationalization
Includes categories for humor, meta-concept categorized by the concepts of joking and laughing.

Reliability
Pearson correlation coefficients r = .0998 or higher
Pearson correlation coefficients r = .975 or higher

Discussion
We can safely say that it is better to have an individual consume soft news than no news at all. But it is argued by Holland survey found that the late-night shows were unrelated to the general knowledge of a particular campaign. Usually a viewer is more turned on by a positive and humours scenario then a serious, maybe even mono-toned news casting, regardless if the information.

Late- Night Learning ~ NO~
-Television Talk Shows
-Dramas
-Situation Comedies
-Police Drama's
-Political content of late-night comedy shows
All are form of late night shows that provide news in some form of way.

The more educated the citizens are and remain the better the foundation and the overall success of the society. An educated citizen in regards to political and social issues will more likely vote and in a Democratic society it is crucial.
Television can be seen as a means that requires less cognitive efforts therefore resulting in reduced learning when it is compared to print. Recall requires more cognitive efforts thank recognition. To recall something would have meant that at one point you would have had to memorize the topic.

Entertainment Media and Politics
The assumption is that a person who watches late night comedy news shows is really less interested in the politics and more interested in the humor. This can be true because if they were more interested in the precise facts and depth of a topic they would have read the news paper, watched an actual broadcasting, or regular evening news. Problem we could say with that is that if they are left or right wing, or are they neutral at all?

Results
The modern American will more than likely be able to name a lat-night comedian or their respective show than a broadcasters name. This type of person will also usually seek out additional sources to find their areas of interest.

My Conclusion
Fake news can mislead the public that is unaware of the reality. Because media is able to manipulate ideas, thoughts, and bias a person should always seek out additional sources. The newspaper is usually the best place to go. If not a local news chanel. Find a media source that fits your ideals and follow it, but don't forget to always read the other side. One side is not always better thank the other and at one point you may find one that has more substance than the other.

Arizona Immigration Law

The governor's signature on House Bill 2162 modifies a measure signed into law by Brewer last week that requires police to inquire about the immigration status of anyone they reasonable suspect to be in the country illegally. Barring a successful legal challenge, the law goes into effect July 29....The bill also clarifies that law-enforcement shall inquire about the immigration status only of those they "stop, detain or arrest." The earlier bill simply said "contact". The change is designed to allay fears of officers would have to examine the papers of anyone they spoke to, including crime victims and witnesses.

#2: Fox (Glen Beck TV) vs. MSNBC (Rachel Maddow Show)

Fox: Glen Beck          (Main Advertisement: Gold Line)
~Rev. Al Sharpton~
I have probably heard or seen this show before but never really payed attention to it.

I chose to watch 2 different clips of his show and the first is on Rev. Al Sharpton.
The first thing that came to my mind is sarcastic. He sounds like he knows what he is talking about, but seems to always be putting a negative slant on everything.
On this topic was on a rally that Beck had and apparently he did or said something to have Rev. Al disagree. Beck is saying that people of faith and them helping charity. He was judged as being "mantel of a religious leader." He is not, or so he claims. His show is bases on the idea of Faith, Hope, and Charity.

MSNBC: The Rachel Maddow Show

~Political strategy for hard times: scapegoating~
She is discussing Republican John Boehner wanting the voters to agree with the bail out. To do another bail out would further deficit our funds by 4.2 Trillion. John Boehner is also called the Soft Target.
Republicans are campaigning against policies that they supported. As Democrats want to give millions of dollars even thought they say they are fiscally conservative.

Voters in the mid term election will usually vote against the party of the president to show there disagreement.
The Democrats then are left with the GOB and also for example the Tea Party.

Just watching one clip from each show, I would prefer to watch the Rachal Maddow Show.
I feel her show has more consistency and is less bias but more based on facts. I can find my self listening to this at least once a week to help me understand more about the November election that is coming up.
